Period specification. The names and values below describe the cockpit as it existed around 2009. They are preserved as archive data and should not be interpreted as current hardware or software recommendations.

Computer specifications

The workload was divided between a dedicated Flight Simulator computer and a client computer running supporting applications and displays.

Cooling and ventilation

Thermal management was essential in the enclosed cabin because the computers, monitors, lighting and pilot all contributed heat.

Cabin airflow

Six fans ventilated the cockpit, with three working together through dedicated ducts.

Computer cooling

The Flight Simulator computer used a liquid-cooling system.

Room climate

Air conditioning maintained approximately 22°C in the room, with the cabin normally remaining below 24°C.
