SP-SDRZ Skyleader 600
Drzewiecki Design's two-seat travelling, photographic and research aircraft, configured with a comprehensive avionics and safety suite.
PLAircraft overview
Since 2022, Drzewiecki Design has operated a Skyleader 600 registered as SP-SDRZ. The aircraft is used to collect aerial photographs and video with several external cameras, document airports from the ground, and evaluate approaches to visual consistency in simulation models. It also supports efficient business travel, promotional activity and engagement with the aviation community. SP-SDRZ is configured as a long-range cruiser with a comprehensive avionics suite and approval for Night VFR operations. When operationally practical, it may also be used for invited, non-commercial demonstration flights intended for aircraft familiarisation and presentation of the Skyleader 600 model.
The Skyleader 600 is an all-metal, two-seat, low-wing aircraft produced in Jihlava, Czech Republic. It features a trapezoidal wing, retractable tricycle landing gear and a steerable nose wheel. Aircraft of the family are used for recreational touring, training and specialised operations; the 600 model was introduced in 2010.
Manufacturer and model history
The Skyleader 600 belongs to a Czech family of light aircraft developed under the SKYLEADER name and manufactured in Jihlava. Its lineage continues a long Czech tradition of practical all-metal aircraft whose construction and systems reflect solutions familiar from larger general-aviation types.
The Institute of Aerospace Engineering at Brno University of Technology developed the concept from which the later ultralight variant evolved.
The direct predecessor of the family made its public debut at the Jihlava Aerosalon and subsequently entered series production.
The SOVA concept developed into the 200, 400, 500 and 600 models, retaining metal construction, broad performance and Fowler flaps.
The 600 is the spacious touring development of this lineage. The manufacturer reports more than 400 SKYLEADER-family aircraft sold worldwide, with approvals in countries across Europe, North America and Africa. Pilots and owners value the family for its handling, useful speed range, comfortable cabin, configurable equipment and maintainable metal structure.
